Best transfer free lipsticks and setting products (for onstage and off!)

So, you’ve got a show coming up, but your makeup bag is missing a key essential – lipstick that won’t come off on your fellow cast mate’s face when you share a smooch! 💋

Or maybe you’re just looking for the right lipstick to wear out and you really don’t want it to keep catching your hair whenever the wind blows ever so slightly. Either way, I’ve got a few recommendations that I’ve been using for many stage productions and outings, and here are a few of my favorites!

Lips

1. NYX Lingerie XXL Liquid Lipstick

My first pick is NYX’s XXL Lingerie Liquid lipstick. I loved how this lipstick applied so much, I went back and bought a second tube in a different color. At a super affordable price of around $10 a tube, this lipstick dries within minutes and displays a deep, radiant color on the lips. I have received so many compliments with both shades of this lipstick (I chose Push’d Up and Untamable), and the fact that I barely need to put any setting powder over it to prevent transferring puts this at my number one spot. Available at Meijer or Amazon.

2. Anastasia Beverly Hills matte lipstick

I discovered the Anastasia Beverly Hills line one day when I went into Ulta looking for a non-liquid lipstick to see how it would compare to the liquid kind shared above. The salesperson recommended this brand, and I needed something in a bright red ruby color, so I selected Anastasia’s matte lipstick in Ruby. This one did transfer a little, but once I set it with my Beauty Bakerie setting powder (see below!), it was a total win. I love the color and it is perfect for the stage or date night! If you prefer traditional lipstick over liquid lipstick, this would be my pick. Limited colors available on Amazon currently for $23.

3. Anastasia Beverly Hills liquid lipstick

My second favorite liquid lipstick, also by Anastasia Beverly Hills, is their liquid lipstick. I have a soft, dusty pink shade called “Kathryn” that I have used for several shows and outings now. If you are looking for something a little less loud, try one of their soft pink or neutral shades. Several shades are on sale at Amazon, similarly priced to the NYX Lip Lingerie at around $10 and change.

Setting spray and powder

1. Pacifica’s Cherry Matte setting spray

I found this setting spray at a Whole Foods in the makeup section and decided to give it a try. I have used Pacifica’s mascaras in the past due to the fact that they have more natural ingredients than a lot of leading brands of mascara, and have been pretty happy with their results. I am so glad I tried this one out! It goes on lightly with a recommended three sprays after applying your makeup, and has a fantastic scent (not fake or chemical smelling scents like a lot of products tend to have). This line is currently available through Healthy Planet.

2. Beauty Bakerie’s Flour setting powder

This setting powder caught my eye when I was at Ulta, browsing the shelves for a natural line of cosmetics. Reading the founder’s story of her having had cancer and being driven to start a makeup line that was as free of harmful ingredients as possible was a huge draw for me. I have religiously used this setting powder in every show since I purchased it a few years ago, and I’m just now running out! I cannot recommend this line enough. It’s currently available on Amazon for $26.

Those are all I have for now! I occasionally try new products and will be writing reviews when time allows. Are there any go-to lipsticks or setting powders you love for the stage or for going out? Let me know in the comments below!
